Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I’m sure you’ve heard that one? Breakfast is simply breaking the fast therefore is the first meal after a long duration of time not eating, so usually after you have been sleeping.
Some people cannot function without breakfast and others prefer to eat later into the day and take on more on an intermittent fasting approach but that is a blog for another day. There is no right or wrong. Eating breakfast can help you feel less ravenous at night time as you’re fulfilling your hunger throughout the day instead of liming it and becoming more hungry at night. Although equally some people feel sick if they have breakfast and genuinely are not hungry in the morning. Therefore listening to your body is your best bet.
I love breakfast, it is my favourite meal of the day however I usually have my breakfast around 12-2pm as this is when I get hungry. There are so many different breakfast ideas but below I am going to list some of my staple breakfast idea, most sweet as you girl has a major sweet tooth so for me is a non negotiable for me

Oats – Oats are a great staple for any morning meal. You can make delicious porridge by mixing them with water
or milk and heating on the hob or alternatively living in the fridge over night for some cold over night oats. You can add pretty much anything to porridge so whatever you’re feeling that morning, add it in! You can also make delicious pancakes/ waffles by blitzing oats with banana and egg or yummy thick smoothies packed full of nutrients for a satisfying breakfast drink. Oats are so versatile and are a complex carbohydrate + have a low GI (glycemic index) so are slow releasing leaving you fuller for longer.

Yoghurt – This is my breakfast staple, I love Greek yoghurt mixed with some chocolate protein powder and topped with Rude Health bircher museli and mixed berries! You can use any yoghurt of choice but this is a great high protein meal and full of nutrients.
Another great addition with yoghurt Is granola, but make sure the granola isn’t too high in sugar and additives. Try and find ones that contain more natural ingredients. I personally ike Lizi’s granola.

Chia Pudding – So simple to make and a different alternative to your usual breakfast menu. Chia seeds are full of antioxidants and fibre, making a healthy start to your day. Mix 3-4 tbsp of chia seeds with 150ml-200ml milk of choice into a jar and shake together. Leave in the fridge for 5- 10 minutes, shaking occasionally so it doesn’t glup together. Then it’s ready to eat! Add nuts and fruit on top for a delicious bowl of goodness.

Smoothie bowls – Smoothies are a great creation but putting them into a bowl just makes them 10x better am I right? You can add any fruit or veg you like for a smoothie bowl but if you want it thick and creamy frozen banana is the secret! Frozen fruit or veg creates a thicker consistency in general so I would always recommend frozen produce or adding ice.
Tip: Add in some protein powder or nut butter to add some protein in the mix and create less of a sugar spike if you’re using all fruit.

Eggs – A staple for any good breakfast/ brunch. I love eggs especially when on an English muffin and paired smoked salmon to create ‘Eggs Royale’. A great thing about eggs is that they can be cooked in so many ways, it keeps things interesting. Why not scramble on toast or create an omelette loaded with lots of vegetables? Or poach/ fry on top of a bagel with a side of wilted spinach/ bacon/ smoked salmon or quite frankly anything! You can bake eggs whole and make a shakshuka or mix together and create a frittata, Eggcellent!
Enjoy making your breakfast creations! :D
