Hi! Welcome to my first ever blog post. If you’re reading this you probably have some interest in the health and well-being sector. Perfect! You’re in the right place :)
Over my blog, I am going to share a range of fitness and health information including workout inspiration, which can also be found over on my Instagram page Louisewhite_fitness, food recipes, including meals, snacks and bakes as well as the other side of health and fitness which is the importance of mental health and providing strategies to help us all, including myself.
Overall health is something many of us lack. By this I mean, you could be fighting fit but how is your mental health? Or you’re great a meditating and looking after your head but are you looking after your body correctly? There is a whole combination of aspects which equals to our overall health. I am sure some of you are killing it but if you’re like me and could strengthen areas of your health then I am here on the journey with you.
Part of the reason I wanted to start this blog was to create a safe space where anyone can feel anything and it be okay. I struggle with areas of my mental health and I am working on adapting and creating a positive change with that!
So, to start a little bit about me and my fitness journey. My name is Louise White, I am 21 years old and I am from Essex. I have always been into fitness from a young age, winning the sports day race in primary school to being in many of the sports teams at school, the dance company and studying doing double P.E + Dance for my GCSE’S. Fitness has always been an enjoyment in my life. When I was 14/15 I started the gym PAYG with my best friend. This was nothing intense but some bits and pieces once or twice a week or so. When I was 16 as a school year we would go to the gym and I decided to get a full gym membership with my boyfriend at the time. I would tend to go a couple times a week but this is where I was a cardio bunny and so would mainly go on the treadmill and do some abs routine a very popular routine for a gym starter pack.
Now, when I turned 17, this is when I fully got into the gym and started developing my fitness and having more understanding. I had met my new boyfriend and he was really into the gym and went to a different gym to me, DW Fitness. He had a friend who was a personal trainer there and he kept mentioning about training me. I said once I passed my driving test I would move gyms as I needed to drive to get there and train with him.
February 2016 I passed my test and March 2016 I joined my new gym. This is when my fitness developed as I was introduced to WEIGHTS! This changed the game. Naturally from training more and from weight training, my body naturally changed. This was never my reason for joining which I know can be for some people. I have naturally built muscle and developed my physique and I am proud of my progress. I love feeling strong and powerful in the gym. The gym is my time. Time to clear my head and have an hour or 2 to myself after work and before going home.
As I mentioned my body did change through weight training and it is always nice to see development in your body but REMEMBER aesthetics isn’t everything. This industry is very aesthetically orientated and that could effect our mental health more than anything. I have had this and this is part of what I would like to work on. I constantly pick at things I don’t like about myself and whether other fitness influencers have the same creases or lower tummy pouch which, fyi yes all women will have slightly as this is natural! Cellulite is normal, rolls when you bend your body is normal. Pictures are never taken to heighten these but they’re all there for everyone. All bodies are beautiful, if you are happy in your body which you should be then that is great. If you would like to develop a few things then that is absolutely fine too. Self Love can be creating a healthier body as well as loving the body you’re in. But don’t ever change because you want to look like someone else or you feel you need to. Only ever focus on what makes you happy and how you look. We will never have a body like anyone else. We are all unique individuals and genetics play a big part in our whole make up, therefore don’t try and look like Kendall Jenner. Admire her beauty and admire your own body and beauty more. 😊
I hope you enjoyed reading about my journey and I'll see you soon :)
